About me
Benjamin Allen is currently Senior Director in the Research, Measurement and Strategy office at Orange County Public Schools. In this role, he supports four departments: Accountability, Assessment, Research, and Strategic Improvement.
Prior to joining OCPS, he worked in various roles in Detroit, Michigan. Originally an orchestra teacher at a small charter school network, he has worked as an administrator for state/federal programs, assessment administration, school accreditation, and strategic planning. He also worked in the Detroit Public Schools Community District to lead that organization’s Assessment department.
Ben is committed to developing and supporting strong teams who focus on providing leaders with the best possible information to make decisions that positively impact all students. He loves working on messy challenges in complex environments.
In his spare time, you’ll likely find him in the pool, on his bike, or playing a board game with his family.
