About me

I am a former teacher, school principal, and professor who is devoted to bridging research and practice. At YouthTruth (an initiative of the Center for Effective Philanthropy) we are dedicated to student voice and youth agency as key ingredients in creating pro-social schools. We work with school systems and education funders (and their grantees) to learn directly from youth about the student experience. We have gathered data from over three million students and we also do research on our aggregate data. I hope to see you at our session: Youth as Culture Builders: Using SEL as a Whole-Child framework.
