Despite increases in state and local efforts to provide high-quality early care and education (ECE), low attendance, limited access, and lack of workforce supports are persistent barriers. We will hear about three papers that present innovative tools and analytic methods to address critical issues in ECE, including (1) reducing chronic absenteeism, (2) expanding access to public pre-K without disrupting the local ECE market, and (3) building state data and research capacity to support early educators.
